The form above is an example of how a typical Deadline Extension Amendment form may be completed.
The purpose of a Deadline Extension Amendment is to allow the flexibility for additional bad weather days, etc., which may be encountered by a contractor. In this particular case, there was only one exception allowed for one such day, which would give the contractor an additional day beyond his deadline of the original agreement. If the reader will look back to the Subcontractor Performance Agreement, the reader will note that there is a provision in Paragraph 6 for weather days and in Paragraph 5 for liquidated damages. Generally, a Deadline Extension Amendment would allow the contractor additional days beyond the deadline, thereby eliminating liquidated damages on the days for which exceptions were allowed.
Only 1 additional day was hypothetically noted in this case.
The location where the Deadline Extension Amendment is signed should be noted. In this case, a hypothetical city was used.
The date the agreement is signed should be noted.
The signature of the owner/contractor.
The signature of the subcontractor.
