| What is a lease? |
| A lease is any agreement that gives rise to a relationship of landlord and tenant (real property) or lessor and lessee (real or personal property). It is a contract for exclusive possession of lands, tenements or hereditaments for life, for term or years, at will, or for any interest less than that of lessor, usually for a specified rent or compensation.
