How to Search Federal Codes & Cases

1:
Click once on the drop-down arrow under the heading "Search Federal Code & Cases" to access the menu.

Click once on the resource you wish to search. (Use the scroll bar to move down and view more selections).

2:
Type the words or phrases for which you wish to search in the text box to the right. The results of the search will be greatly improved by using several words, which will help to narrow the search. Then,

Click on "GO."

 3:
The results of your search will show in the bottom half of the screen. Be aware that since different sites are being searched, the results screens may look different from one another (i.e. First Circuit Court vs. Seventh Circuit Court). Follow the links on the results screen to do your research. Use your browser’s back button to return to the previous screen, or click once on "Library Home" to return to the main page, or simply click on the Return to Library home listed below.
